Resorts & rentals Planned project
A complete UniFi network and security design for a 12-cabin lakeside resort, connecting the cabins, lodge and outdoor guest spaces.
An access point in each cabin, plus lodge, bar and dining coverage. Six outdoor access points are planned for the docks, beach, playground and shared spaces.
Four powered distribution nodes and a planned 10G fiber backbone link the property. Cat6 connections feed Wi-Fi access points, cameras and office/POS devices.
A 12-camera G6 design covers entrances, parking and shared areas. Two 16TB drives at the lodge provide local recording storage, with views planned around public areas.
Separate guest, staff/business, camera and management networks. Cabin-specific access separates guests in different cabins while allowing compatible devices in the same cabin to connect.
Spectrum fiber at the lodge, with Starlink planned as a backup internet path. A central gateway manages the connections serving the resort.
A central rack brings together the gateway, PoE switching, fiber connections and recording. Battery backup, power distribution, labeled cabling and protected outdoor enclosures complete the plan.
The base layout includes 12 indoor cabin access points, three lodge/common-area access points and six outdoor units. Placement and coverage would be checked against actual buildings and mounting conditions.
Up to 12 planned Cat6 business drops serve office, bar and restaurant/POS needs, with provision for printers, TVs/signage and other wired equipment.
The preliminary camera mix is eight G6 Bullets and four G6 Domes, with two 16TB recording drives. Camera positions and storage retention would be finalized around the selected recording settings.
The design uses a Dream Machine Pro Max, aggregation and a Pro Max 24 PoE switch at the lodge. Four remote PoE nodes distribute connections through weather-protected enclosures with local power.
The plan includes remote system health review, troubleshooting, update planning, configuration backups, documentation and owner/staff orientation. Management and onsite service are scoped separately.
UI Care was included for qualifying UniFi equipment, with hardware-replacement coordination alongside Cassian's management support.
Spare fiber capacity and available ports support later additions. An optional fifth fiber node was considered for expanded beach or entrance coverage.
The cabin network design allows compatible devices within the same cabin to communicate, including casting, while keeping other cabins and business systems separate.
Future phase · smart cabin access
A later phase was considered for cabin door hubs, readers and compatible locks, building on the same UniFi network. Guest credentials and staff access could then be managed centrally. Door hardware and entry options would be finalized separately.
This showcase describes a proposed design. Equipment quantities, routes, camera positions and coverage are subject to field verification; future door access is a separate phase.
